January 04, 2019

Sit back, relax, and enjoy the romance of railway travel on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express.  The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express (VSOE) is a luxury train service that operates from March to November with destinations including Paris, Venice, and Budapest, to name a few.  When you book a voyage on the VSOE, you are booking the experience of a lifetime to the bygone era of the â??Golden Ageâ? of travel.

Style and class are abound on-board the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, and service is second to none on this historic train.  The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express features elegantly restored 1920s-50s rail cars with impeccable finishes from polished wood to plush upholstery and antique fixtures.  With world-class dining, libations and entertainment set against the ever-changing backdrop of beautiful European scenery, a voyage on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express is the epitome of luxury travel.

Destinations

Voyages on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express span across Europe and include terminals at cities such as London, Paris, Verona, Venice, Budapest, Vienna, Berlin, Prague, and Istanbul, with return trips available.  The London leg of the journey is conducted on the luxurious British Pullman train, and you are transported across the English Channel where you join the VSOE in Paris. You can book a cabin or suite for the entire European voyage, or just a portion of the journey.

Private Cabins

The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express has four types of luxurious private cabins to accomodate you on your weeklong European voyage.  Single and Twin Cabins are set up as lounge areas by day, and convert to comfortable sleeping quarters at night. Twin Cabins feature seating that converts to upper and lower sleeping arrangements.  Each cabin features a plush banquette sofa with footstool, a small table, as well as a washbasin, with restrooms located at the end of each train carriage.

Cabin Suites are comprised of two connected Twin Cabins, giving guests the luxury of added space and the option to keep one cabin as a lounge and the other as sleeping quarters.  New this year on-board the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express are three Grand Suites. The VSOE Grand Suite has a double bed and lounge area, as well as the piece de resistance of railway travel - a private bathroom with shower.  Guests staying in the Grand Suites also receive unlimited Champagne in their suites, as well as the option of in-suite dining.

Dining and Bar Cars

The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express has three dining carriages as well as a fully stocked bar car.  Cote d'Azur, Etoile du Nord, and L' Oriental boast world-class cuisines prepared by highly skilled French chefs, with local and seasonal ingredients brought on-board along the journey.  Brunch, lunch and dinner are served in the restaurant cars, as you overlook the magnificent scenery just outside your window. Breakfast and afternoon tea are served in the comfort of your private cabin.  The Art Nouveau-styled bar car offers delicious drinks and refreshments as the resident pianist plays on the baby grand piano, creating the perfect ambience on your luxurious European train journey.
